I spent $140 for the SereneSun LE PRO. Just the light. Not the full kit.The light is bright enough for a planted aquarium. The remote is cheap and often requires you to hit the buttons multiple times to get the unit to respond. The LED colors are good. The so-called "lock" button, doesn't seem to do anything. According to the manual, lock mode is supposed lock the controls so that other IR remotes (TV, etc.) don't inadvertently change the lights settings. The screen is supposed to indicate that it's locked, but nothing happens when I push the lock button.Programming isn't complicated, but it is a multistep process, and the incredibly short 'timeout' period during programming doesn't leave much time to read the directions, find the buttons, and enter the next step. I constantly had to start over because the timeout would elapse and the unit would return to the main screen, discarding my settings. You have to execute each step within 5 seconds or else you'll lose your settings.I don't like how the wire brackets have a 2 1/2" lift off of the tank. I would prefer that the light be closer to the tank. With the 2 1/2" lift, the LEDs shine into the room. We have our aquarium in our living room where we watch movies after dark. I don't like how the aquarium light "bleeds" light into the room.In Timer B mode, you can adjust the color of the sunrise/sunset, daylight, and moonlight settings. However, if you don't make the adjustments quickly enough, you'll lose the settings. There is no indication of this, other than the light "blinks" when entry is successfully saved. There is no indication if the adjustment is unsuccessful, other than it isn't correct when that time period is activated.I haven't found any way to change the duration of the sunrise/sunset and moonlight periods.I bought the "LE" version of the SunSerene light. It's white. I really didn't want white, but black didn't seem to be available anywhere.UPDATE: I recently hooked up the sound and I really like it. It's a nice touch. I'm thinking about ordering the background light next.UPDATE 2: After getting to know this product, I have upgraded to four stars. It's really pretty good. I wish it were SMART amd had an app for programming, but I take back what I said about it being overpriced. It is right priced. I would pay more for the features I mentioned, but I am fine with this purchase.I am completely blown away by this light, I went from finnex planted plus 24/7 CRV to this... hot dang is it an upgrade... everything I didn’t enjoy about the finnex this thing fixed. It mind blowing to me that I literally cant see it when viewing my tank from my bed, I am 100% blown away.I was really concerned about how easy it would be to program, but honestly it took about 30 min for me to understand, play around with it, and finally decide what I liked it at.I’m probably gunna buy a couple more for another bedroom tank I have, but I’ll most likely get the full kit with speakers, frost background and backlight just so I can try it out... this was so easy it should be criminal...I can’t wait to finish the hardscape with some wood that I ordered so I can hook everything up and plant this thing. This is a pretty sick planted aquarium light for the money and my plants are loving it. The 24hr circadian rhythm timer works perfect and the settings and dynamic modes it has are the best I've had in any aquarium light. I own 3 different Current aquarium lights and am happy with all of them. I would definitely recommend Current to anyone looking for a affordable aquarium light.Tried to program the timer exactly like the owner's manual listed several times, but will not set up sunrise, daytime sunset B cycle. The light just stays at whatever the last setting was at. Much brighter than Current USA Satellite Freshwater Plus Aquarium LED Light which had insufficient light for plants in a 24" deep tank.Very nice light, at this time can’t get timer to work, still trouble shooting to see if me or controller. Wish it was controlled with phone app. Ok got timer to work very nice nowLight is doing wonders for my plants. I’ve already seen and explosion of growth. Remote is very easy to use and control the different settings on the light. The sunrise sunset feature is the best. Though I did turn off the moon lights, I really believe that resulted in a green algae burst.setting up the timer nit the bestNice options for my freshwater tank. Easy to set up programs.Great looking sleek product
