Highly recommendAfter visiting a friend's pandemic garden which was set up mainly with various size grow bags, I was inspired to start my own. I got these 7-gallon bags for smaller varieties of peppers and to grow multiple herbs in each bag.I got this pack and several other packs of grow bags and overall they are very similar in terms of materials used and quality. They are straightforward, just make sure to get the right size for your plant and weather.This was my first time using grow bags and I did not know what to expect. But here is what I learned:1. Elevate with plates with casters. Big bags like these are hard to move after they are filled and have plants growing in them even though these have handles on them. You may want to consider putting the pots on a plant stand with casters. I can clean underneath. This helps to keep the draining water from staining my concrete and prevents mold growth and insects from living underneath (centipedes, millipedes, earwigs, crickets, etc.)2. Bigger is Better. These bags drain and dry very quickly. If you are the type to overwater, then these are for you. I live in SoCal where summers are scorching hot/dry. During the hottest days of summer, I found myself watering in the mornings and again at the hottest point in the day to keep my plants happy. If you live somewhere hot and dry like me, consider bigger grow bags like this one and mulch on top. Plants that I kept in small 1 and 3 gallon bags dried up too quickly. Pair smaller grow bags with drain plates to help hold in moisture. The run-off will collect in the plates and can be wicked up by the bags/soil.3. Light and Packs Flat. These grow bags were perfect for my pandemic pop-up garden. Now that the season is over, I have emptied some, hosed them off, dried them, and folded them up for storage. If you have limited space or storage, you really cannot beat these.4. Can be Reused! These stand up to the weather really well. They do not fade, get brittle, chip/crack like some plastics do. I cannot wait to use them again next season.
